Testimonials

“Melissa’s work with text is as intelligent, assured, meticulous and rigorous as the finest crafts person at the height of their powers. Melissa makes play development a joy, empowering you as a writer with your own unique voice that needs to be heard.” ~ Ola Animashawn, Connections Dramaturg National Theatre, Ola Animashawun was an Associate Director at the Royal Court Theatre and created the Royal Court Theatre’s influential young writers programme

“Melissa has such a detailed understanding of techniques like plotting, conflict, and scene structure, which can sometimes be hard to get hold of in your own work. But more than this, she is so good at getting to the heart of what you want to say with your writing, at finding the elements in your work that really shine and helping you cultivate that. A huge part of the reason I was able to write Wish List is thanks to her mentoring.” ~ Katherine Soper, Winner 2015 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting for Wish List

“At last! A course that supports the professional development of writers. Everything begins with a script and the info packed Papercut course gave great insider tips and know how for any writer wanting to progress within the industry. Invaluable!” ~ Catherine

“… covered a huge scope of issues facing emerging writers – networking, a more effective way to approach literary departments, the right people and companies to approach…” ~ Leighton

“…well worth coming up to London from Bristol for…. I found your approach very affirming and validating…I took it back home to Bristol with me with a glad heart.” ~ Elanora
